BACKYARD ULTRA
It is an ultramarathon race where competitors must run consecutively, on a closed circuit, the distance of 6706 meters (4,167 miles) in less than an hour. When each lap is completed, the time remaining within one hour is normally used to recover for the next hour's race. There can only be one winner, the last resister to complete his ultimate lap. This concept was created by the American runner Lazarus Lake.
Lisboa Backyard Ultra is part of the official calendar of Backyard Ultra and is promoted by Associação Surf Social Wave.

The Monsanto Forest Park, located in the city of Lisbon, is the backyard of many Lisbon residents who run, cycle and walk around the diferent areas of the park.
It has an area of 1000 hectares and is one of the largest forested parks inside a city in Europe.
It is considered the lung of Lisbon.
